Youth Pheasant Hunt

The Lewis County Assoication of Sportsmen's Clubs and the Conservation Alliance of New York have co-sponsored the Youth Pheasant Hunt in Lewis County for the last 8 years. This event is opened to youth from 12  to 15 years  of age with a hunting license and a parent or guardian attending.  These youth get a chance to go into the field and actually hunt a pheasant. The DEC provides us with the pheasants . The youth get safety training with the firearms , before going into the field , also get to shoot at some clay targets for practice. The dog handlers give there safety training also. Orange is requried to be worn by all that go out in the field whether hunting or not.A lunch is provide by the assoication for all youth and parents that attend. This event runs from 8:00 am group going out and then another group going out at 12:00PM. Saturday October 6th and Sunday October 7th this year.
